IGram IGNOU 2026: Grievance Portal, How to Register Complaint & Check Status
How to use IGram IGNOU grievance portal β register complaints online, check grievance status, types of complaints accepted, and response timeline for IGNOU student issues.
IGram is IGNOU's official online grievance redressal portal where students can lodge complaints about any academic or administrative issue. Whether it's missing assignment marks, delayed grade cards, study centre problems, or admission issues, IGram is the official channel to get your grievance addressed. This guide covers how to use the IGram portal effectively.
What is IGram?
IGram (Integrated Grievance Redressal Mechanism) is IGNOU's centralized complaint system managed by the university's Student Service Centre. It replaced the older complaint email system and provides a structured way to:
- Register academic grievances (missing marks, grade card errors, result issues)
- Report administrative problems (admission delays, re-registration issues, fee discrepancies)
- Complain about study centre irregularities
- Request migration certificates, transcripts, or other documents
- Escalate unresolved issues from regional centres
How to Register a Complaint on IGram
- Visit IGram: Go to the IGram portal on the IGNOU website (igram.ignou.ac.in)
- Login: Enter your enrollment number and date of birth
- Select complaint type: Choose the category that best matches your issue (academic, administrative, study centre, etc.)
- Describe your issue: Provide a clear, detailed description of your problem. Include dates, course codes, and any reference numbers.
- Upload supporting documents: Attach screenshots, acknowledgement receipts, or any relevant documents
- Submit: Note down the grievance reference number for tracking
How to Check IGram Grievance Status
After submitting your complaint, you can track its status on the same portal. Login with your enrollment number and check the status of each grievance. Status indicators include:
- Open: Your complaint has been received and is pending review
- In Progress: The relevant department is working on your issue
- Resolved: Your complaint has been addressed. Check the resolution notes.
- Closed: The grievance has been resolved and closed
IGram Response Timeline
IGNOU aims to resolve grievances within 15β30 days depending on the complexity. Simple issues like status checks may be resolved in a week, while academic disputes may take longer. If your grievance is unresolved after 30 days, you can escalate it.
Common IGram Complaints and Solutions
Assignment marks not showing on grade card
This is the most common complaint. Before filing on IGram, check with your study centre first β they may not have uploaded the marks yet. Use our assignment status checker to verify. If the study centre confirms upload but marks still don't appear after a month, file on IGram with your submission receipt.
Grade card showing "Incomplete"
If your grade card shows "Incomplete" for a course, check both your assignment status and TEE result. If both were submitted/appeared but still show incomplete, file on IGram with your hall ticket and assignment receipt.
Admission or re-registration not confirmed
If your admission or re-registration is stuck in "Pending" status for more than 2 weeks, file on IGram with your payment receipt and application reference number.
Tips for Faster Grievance Resolution
- Be specific β include enrollment number, course codes, dates, and reference numbers
- Attach proof β screenshots, receipts, and acknowledgement copies speed up resolution
- Follow up if unresolved after 30 days
- Contact your regional centre directly for urgent issues
