IGNOU Assignment Submission 2026 β Guidelines, Deadlines & Status
Everything you need to know about submitting IGNOU assignments β guidelines, last dates, how to check submission status, and official assignment downloads.
IGNOU Assignment Submission Guidelines
IGNOU assignments are a mandatory component of every programme β you must pass assignments independently from the Term-End Exam (TEE). Each course requires a separate handwritten assignment submitted to your assigned study centre before the deadline. Failing to submit assignments means you cannot pass the course, regardless of your TEE marks.
How to submit IGNOU assignments
- Download the latest assignment question paper for your course from our Assignments Hub or the official IGNOU website.
- Write your answers neatly by hand on A4 sheets (one side only). Typed or printed assignments are generally not accepted.
- Attach the IGNOU assignment cover page with your name, enrollment number, programme code, course code, study centre code, and session details.
- Submit the physical copy to your assigned study centre before the deadline.
- Keep a photocopy or scanned copy of your submitted assignment for your records.
- Check your IGNOU assignment submission status online after 2β4 weeks to confirm receipt.

Online or email submission is not accepted unless specifically announced by IGNOU for your session.
For the June TEE 2026, assignments are typically due by 31 March 2026. For the December TEE 2026, the last date for assignment submission is 31 October 2026. IGNOU may extend deadlines β always verify on the official IGNOU website or check our homepage ticker for the latest updates.

The AI Assignment Solver generates well-structured answers with proper references β exactly what IGNOU graders look for. Most students use it to understand the content and then write in their own style before submitting. It's far more efficient than reading through multiple textbooks for each question.
If you miss the assignment deadline, you cannot submit for that exam cycle. You will need to download fresh assignments for the next session and submit before the next deadline. IGNOU conducts exams twice a year (June and December TEE), so you can try again in six months.
